What is Breast Enlargement Surgery?
When you are thinking of making changes to your body and to your breasts, and are interested in getting
breast augmentation surgery, it is important to understand how the procedure is carried out, the risks,
and the recovery recommendations before you meet with a cosmetic surgeon to discuss the procedure for yourself.
What is Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation surgery is the process of enlarging, re-shaping, re-constructing or entirely changing the look
and feel of the breast area, generally using a form of breast implants.
Types of Breast Implants
If you are thinking of
financing breast enlargement surgery, it is important to review your options when it comes to
choosing the type of implant you want. There are three common and well-known breast implant types including composite,
saline, and silicone. The silicone and saline breast implant options are the most widely used forms of implants and are
filled with saline solution and also with silicone gel, which give different feels. The composite type of breast implant
often using polypopylene string or soy oil as its fillers (which are no longer being marketed towards large audiences).

How is Breast Augmentation Surgery Performed?
There are currently five incision methods possible for breast augmentation or reconstruction surgery including inframammary,
periareolar, transaxillary, transumbilica, and transabdominal incisions and entry points. These range from making incisions
along the areola or armpit area of the body to making the incision just near the navel area to insert the breast implants.
Revoery Time for Breast Agumentation Surgery
Typically, recovery for breast implants and reconstruction surgery only takes one to two full weeks before you can return to
your work or to running errands. It is important to rest after the surgery to ensure proper healing. You should also limit
intense or strenuous physical activities for at least six weeks while the breasts are healing and as your body is still
adjusting to the new foreign material in it as well.
