Hair Restoration Options
Losing hair due to aging or even a medical issues such as alopecia can be frustrating and at times,
quite overwhelming. If you are feeling upset over the loss of your hair and you are interested in
comparing the treatment options you have available, you can look into hair restoration options that
are both surgical and non-surgical, depending on your current condition and future plans.
Getting a Hair Transplant
There is a hair transplant option, which is one of the most permanent methods to restoring hair.
With a hair transplant, one to four hairs are taken at a time (referred to as follicular units)
from a permanent hair site on the patient's body and placed onto the head or another area of the
body where there is currently no hair growth (or a loss of hair).
Not Sure Where to Start?
Apply for easy financing, regardless of your credit score.
Hair transplant restoration is commonly used for men with genetic baldness as well as women who
are losing hair, eyebrow hair, or even to help with restoring hair in other areas of the body
other than the face. Hair transplant options may be ideal for you based on the severity of your
hair loss and the root cause of the issue.
Follicular Unit Transplantation
The most common method of hair restoration is Follicular Unit Transplantation, which takes full
hair follicles from the patient, using a "donor strip" (generally located on the back of the head,
where the hair is thickest and grows the most). The patient is then sutured up to minimize the risk
of a scar. The hairs taken from the patient's donor strip are place into the area where the patient
is experiencing baldness or looking for a permanent hair solution. Once the procedure is complete,
the moved hair will then become actual hair-producing follicles, allowing the patient to finally
have the hair he or she wants in any specific area on the body.
